A known problem with the KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas 250cc and 300cc TPI models was discovered in 2019 when KTM redesigned the TPI bikes. The hose connecting the radiators now runs close to the engine. This is a result of the engine being moved forward and up.

The bike’s radiators move around a lot, and if it is dropped or crashed, they will push back against the hose and damage it. It is known online as the “Power Valve Puncture” or “Power Valve Pinch” and occurs regardless of the type of hose installed.

While Samco Sport hoses provide more protection than an OEM rubber hose, they cannot withstand the extreme forces that the hose hitting the engine produces, which leaves a small puncture mark in the hose. This force may also deform the radiator spout on the bottom left of the radiator in extreme cases.
