Shinko 505S Hybrid Cheater Tires find traction in the most extreme conditions—it’s almost like cheating! It’s the best of both worlds, soft sticky rubber compound like the Trail Pro trials tire in a knobby tread pattern to work in a wider variety of soil conditions. Where a trials tire falls short in braking and loose soil conditions, the Shinko 505S Hybrid Cheater bridges that gap to make it the ultimate hybrid off-road tire that adds confidence even in the most demanding terrain. We have done extensive testing on KTM 300s and big bore KTMs and Husqvarnas. The 110/100-18 is a little undersized and therefore works well for 125/150/200cc models but also gives excellent performance on 250/300 2 strokes and 250F/350F 4 strokes. It may require slight suspension adjustments to maintain correct chassis balance but most guys mount it and ride. The 120/100-18 is oversized (height and width), therefore I only recommend it for big-bore 4 strokes. Depending on your current shock sag dimensions, you may need to add 5 – 10mm of shock sag to obtain correct chassis balance.
The 505 Cheater offers exceptional traction in extreme conditions with a reasonable service life and a fair price. This tire provides amazing traction in rocks and roots but due to it’s close knob pattern it’s not great for deep mud conditions. The service life is better than most gummy tires. Jeff Slavens
