Next-Level Traction & Durability: PROLOCK 360 – Nuetech’s Latest Innovation
At Slavens Racing, we put products to the test in real-world riding conditions before putting them in our catalog. Jeff has been running Nuetech’s latest tire system on his bike for a while now, and the results speak for themselves.
Run Ultra Low PSI—Or Even Flat—with Confidence
One of the biggest advantages of this system is the ability to run low or ultra-low PSI—or even completely flat—without compromising performance. Jeff has put it through its paces at different pressures. Even under extreme lean angles and aggressive sideloads, the system prevents much of the wallow you get with traditional mounting systems, keeping the bike planted and predictable. The result? Superior traction, control, and feel.
Durability That Outlasts the Bike
Built to withstand abuse, this system is incredibly durable. With minimal maintenance, it will likely outlast the bike itself. And if anything does happen, the entire system is fully rebuildable, making it a long-term investment rather than a disposable component. Jeff has ridden it in harsh conditions, and it’s proven to hold up where traditional setups might fail.
Foam Insert or Not—You Decide
Versatility is key, and this system can be used with or without a foam insert. When paired with Nuetech’s 5150 insert, it delivers next-level traction across all types of riding and conditions. Jeff has experimented with both setups, and while the foam insert enhances grip even further, the system performs impressively on its own as well.
Tire Installation: Easier Than Ever
Installing this system is as simple as the TUBLISS setup, if not easier.
- Step 1: Place the wheel inside the tire.
- Step 2: Spoon on each bead—this process is even simpler since there’s nothing in the drop center except the 6mm bolts at the rim’s center.
- Step 3: Tighten the bead locks, which only takes a few extra minutes.
For those using a cordless ratchet, the process is even faster.
Rim Strength: No Weak Points, Only Reinforcement
A common concern is whether drilling additional holes in the rim could weaken it. However, after years of feedback from riders worldwide, not a single issue has surfaced. The reasoning is simple: these holes are not stress points.
Most rim cracks occur at the spokes after a massive direct hit, not in the drop center. Additionally, the bead lock design acts as a full circumference forged alloy doubler, bridging over the spokes and reinforcing the entire system. Jeff has ridden hard on this setup and has seen firsthand how well it protects the rim—even reducing damage to the lips, much like the TUBLISS system.
Weight & Balance: Lighter Than HD Tubes, Perfectly Balanced
- 18” rear: 2.5 lbs
- 21” front: 1.9 lbs
This makes it only a few ounces heavier than TUBLISS but still lighter than most HD inner tubes or mousses. More importantly, each bead lock section is nearly identical in weight, ensuring a perfectly balanced system. Jeff immediately noticed the smoothness of the ride—something top riders have also pointed out.
No More Loose Spokes
Another standout feature is the way the system secures the spoke nipples. Each spoke head is locked into the polymer seal under pressure, preventing them from loosening over time. This means less maintenance and more time riding.
Final Thoughts
After extensive testing, Jeff can confidently say that Nuetech has built an innovative, reliable, and performance-driven product. Whether you’re a racer, a trail rider, or someone who simply wants better performance and durability from your tires, this system delivers.
