Rabaconda Dirt Bike Tire Changer
The Rabaconda Dirt Bike Tire Changer, formerly known as the 3-Minute Tire Changer, is the quickest and easiest way to change your tire! It all started back in 1995, when a key person for Finland’s international enduro success – Kaj Ek (Finnish Motorcycle Association) – asked Pertti Ahonen, the father of a young local rider, to develop a mousse tyre changer for the Finnish Trophy Team during the International Six Days of Enduro that took place in Finland in 1996. It was critical for the Finns to become world champions in their home country. For Pertti Ahonen, it was an intriguing challenge. Together with his son, Tuomas Ahonen, and another friend, they welded together the very first prototype of what is today the Rabaconda Dirt Bike Tire Changer. The product was first tested at the ISDE training camp in Jämsä. The first rider to change a mousse tyre with that invention was 7-time world champion Kari Tiainen. His judgment: “This can change a mousse tyre!”
The Finnish Motorcycle Association ordered another 6 copies to be used during 1996 ISDE in Finland. The very same year, the Finnish Trophy Team took the overall world championship win. There must have been something magical done by Pertti Ahonen back then… In 2011, 16 years later, the Finnish Trophy Team was again the world’s leaders when they won the ISDE in Finland. And they used the mousse tire changers created by Pertti Ahonen back in 1995 which has since been constantly modified and developed by riders and their mechanics. A dozen people contributed to the development of the mousse changer and the Rabaconda community can be proud of having launched their first ever co-designed product.
