ET-Racing Booster Pump
ET‑Racing’s Booster Pump system directly addresses KTM’s new generation fuel pump design flaw by adding a smart, secondary pump to feed stranded fuel into the main tank chamber. It’s automatic, energy-efficient, and practical—especially for remote or off-road riders.
The Problem:
- The 2023 KTM and Husqvarna 125-450cc competition models and 2024-26 KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas ALL models fuel tanks feature a central fuel chamber with the pump located high up, leaving 1.5–2 L of fuel trapped in the lower side chambers that the pump can’t reach.
- During off road riding, or if the bike tips, fuel shifts into side chambers and the pump draws air, causing engine cut-outs despite a visually non-empty tank.
- KTM’s stock pump only lifts fuel from about 1″ (≈2.5 cm) below its rim—and once dry, it cannot re-prime without external help.
The Solution: Booster Pump by ET Racing
- Plug‑and‑Play Design: Adds a secondary pump in the left side chamber, mounted via a drilled hole, and sealed like the previous generation KTM fuel pump.
- How It Works:
- Side-chamber fuel is pumped into the central chamber.
- The main pump then continuously draws from the central chamber—even down to the last drops.
- Triggered automatically when reserve levels are reached, based on signals from the fuel thermistor, reserve light, and front wheel speed sensor.
- Cavitation Prevention: Ensures the central chamber stays flooded, avoiding cavitation that can damage pumps.
- Fail-safe Mode: If the speed sensor fails, the booster runs intermittently (~1.6 A pulses); minimal energy draw compared to things like fans.
Benefits and Specs:
- Never get stranded due to trapped fuel—it reliably delivers the last bit.
- No more need for awkward fuel transfers or bike tipping to unblock the pump.
- Lightweight (≈260 g) and compatible with Acerbis-style tanks.
- Includes installation guides (PDFs) and is priced at $207.95 USD.
Important! In the event of a speed sensor failure, the microprocessor system of the Booster Pump controller will pump fuel regardless of the amount of fuel in the tank.
