KTM 640 Adventure ’03-‘07

Standard Fork Re-Valve
$239 + Springs ($110) = $349
(Add $60 to the re-valve price to include oil seals & labor to change the seals. Only high quality NOK or SKF forks seals are used. We’ve tested all of the cheaper brands and they don’t compare.)
The 640 Adventure WP fork is harsh on the small hits (rocks, roots, washboard, etc.) and very mushy on medium to big hits. This combination of harshness and softness creates vague steering and tracking, head shake, and overall instability. For ALL riders over 150lbs, this bike desperately needs firmer spring rates and matching valving. The harshness and wiggly wobbly handling will be a thing of the past. Your confidence and enjoyment will skyrocket and you’ll feel like Cyril Depres at the Dakar Rally.
Re-valve includes:
- Valving shims
- Cartridge fork fluid
- Clean and inspect all parts
- Labor
- 60 day warranty
- Unlimited phone or email support
- Re-work if needed
Does not include seals, bushings, or other worn/damaged parts.
Shock Sox or Seal Savers are recommended for all models, applications, and conditions.
The Next Level Fork Re-Valve
$339 + springs ($110) = $449
(Add $60 to the re-valve price to include oil seals & labor to change the seals. Only high quality NOK or SKF forks seals are used. We’ve tested all of the cheaper brands and they don’t compare.)
The Next Level is for those that want the best. Because of time and expense constraints this service has only been offered to a few customers in the past, but now CNC water jet machining technology makes this affordable to the masses. The Next Level Re-Valve, with its Slavens designed High Flow Passive Valve Pistons, makes the fork action much more compliant and responsive when riding on rocks and roots yet increases firmness for G-outs and big hits.
The Next Level Re-Valve includes everything that is in the Standard Fork Re-Valve plus:
- Next Level High Flow Passive Valve Pistons
- Additional hand machining to valving parts
Does not include seals, bushings, or other worn/damaged parts.
Shock Sox or Seal Savers are recommended for all models, applications, and conditions.
Shock Re-Valve
$239 + Spring ($110) = $349 (Add $29 for an oil seal kit)
The 640 Adventure WP shock suffers from a soft spring, wallowy low-speed compression valving, and a rebound circuit that is unable to control a firmer spring rate. Once these issues are corrected, the shock will be able to handle a wide variety of terrain and loads. It’s highly recommend that this be paired with the fork re-valve/re-spring to achieve proper balance and handling performance both on and off road.
Re-valve includes:
- Valving parts
- Nitrogen
- Shock fluid
- Labor
- Bleed fluid with WP/KTM Factory vacuum/pressure bleeding machine
- 60 day warranty
- Re-work if needed
- Unlimited phone or email support
Does not include seals or bushings.
KTM 690E & R Enduro ’08-‘11

Next Level Fork Re-Valve
$339 – (We don’t recommend the standard revalve for the 690 because of the extremely harsh fork and chassis combination)
Add $60 to the re-valve price to include oil seals & labor to change the seals. (Only high quality NOK or SKF forks seals are used. We’ve tested all of the cheaper brands and they don’t compare.)
The 690E & R WP fork is brutally harsh and stiff on the small hits (rocks, roots, washboard, etc.). This creates a very nervous front end and makes it a handful to ride in any conditions that are rougher than fresh pavement. For many riders a spring rate change is necessary.
Re-valve includes:
* Valving shims
* Cartridge fork fluid
* Next Level High Flow Passive Valve Pistons
* Hand machining to valving parts
* Clean and inspect all parts
* Labor
* 60 day warranty
* Unlimited phone or email support
* Re-work if needed
Does not include springs, seals, bushings, or other worn/damaged parts.
Shock Sox or Seal Savers are recommended for all models, applications, and conditions.
Shock Re-Valve
$239
The 690E & R WP shock suffers from the same problems as the front-end, extremely harsh valving that makes it kick and track poorly. Once these issues are corrected, the shock will be able to handle a wide variety of terrain and loads. It’s recommend that this be paired with the fork re-valve/re-spring to achieve proper balance and handling performance both on and off road.
Standard Re-valve includes:
- Valving parts
- Nitrogen
- Shock fluid
- Labor
- Bleed fluid with WP/KTM Factory vacuum/pressure bleeding machine
- 60 day warranty

The 950 Super Enduro WP fork is brutally harsh and stiff on the small hits (rocks, roots, washboard, etc.) which makes it very nervous at the speeds that this beast can deliver. When custom tuned to your weight and riding conditions it will be very stable and comfortable.
Re-valve includes:
* Valving shims
* Cartridge fork fluid
* Clean and inspect all parts
* Labor
* 60 day warranty

KTM 950/990 Adventure ’03-‘11

Standard Fork Re-Valve
$239 + Springs ($110) = $349
(Add $60 to the re-valve price to include oil seals & labor to change the seals. Only high quality NOK or SKF forks seals are used. We’ve tested all of the cheaper brands and they don’t compare.)
The 950/990 Adventure WP fork is harsh on the small hits (rocks, roots, washboard, etc.), soft on big hits, and dives too much during braking. This combination of harshness and softness creates vague steering and tracking, drifting when the throttle is adjusted or chopped in a turn, and overall instability, especially on washboard gravel roads. For most riders it needs a firmer spring rate to correct the balance issues and a re-valve to correct the harshness.
Re-valve includes:
* Valving shims
* Cartridge fork fluid
* Clean and inspect all parts
* Labor
* 60 day warranty
* Unlimited phone or email support
* Re-work if needed
Does not include seals, or bushings.

Shock Re-Valve
$239
The 950/990 Adventure WP shock suffers from stiff high-speed compression valving, that causes the rear end to dance around during acceleration on choppy gravel roads and soft low-speed compression valving that allows the bike to wallow, especially in curves with dips. For some years/models and for some riders, the spring rate may need to be adjusted for correct balance and support.
Re-valve includes:
- Valving parts
- Nitrogen
- Shock fluid
- Labor
- Bleed fluid with WP/KTM Factory vacuum/pressure bleeding machine
- 60 day warranty
- Re-work if needed
- Unlimited phone or email support

Fork Seal Change & Re-build
$200 – All models 625,640,690,950,990
Our rebuilds go far beyond what you get at most dealerships or suspension shops where they just throw in a set of seals. A correct rebuild involves a very thorough cleaning of all internals (the shim stacks, valving pistons and other parts are often full of sludge), inspection, and repair/replacement of all internal wear items. (bushings, rebound check valve shims, o-rings, stuck rebound needles, etc.)
Re-build price includes:
- NOK or SKF Oil Seals (we’ve tested many other brands and they don’t compare)
- Disassemble
- Clean, inspect, repair, service all internals
- Polish fork tubes & damper rods
- Labor
- Replace worn parts
- Re-assemble w/quality cartridge fluid
- Update valving if previously re-valved by Slavens Racing (valving parts not included)
- 60 day warranty (Shock Sox or Seal Savers must be installed)
Does not include bushings or other worn/damaged parts. Shock Sox or Seal Savers are recommended for all models, applications and conditions.
Shock Re-Build
$180 – $220 – All models 625,640,690,950,990
WP shocks are the most complicated brand to rebuild correctly. Most shops overlook many wear areas that effect maximum performance and they leave the shock fluid full of air by attempting to bleed the system without proper equipment. This makes the damping performance inconsistent and quick to fade. At Slavens Racing ALL shocks are bled with a WP/KTM vacuum/pressure bleeding machine to insure correct and consistent performance.
Rebuild includes:
- Disassemble
- Shaft oil seal or sealhead assembly (sealhead,bushing, oil & dust seal)
- Shock fluid
- Nitrogen
- Clean & inspect all parts
- Replace other worn parts (parts not included)
- Re-assemble & re-charge with nitrogen
- Bleed fluid with WP/KTM vacuum/pressure bleeding machine
Fork or Shock Height/Travel Reduction
Please email info@slavensracing.com for pricing
Many KTMs seat height can be overwhelming for riders with inseams of 30 inches or less. Reducing the ride height 1 to 2 inches makes it much easier to navigate technical sections, reduces low speed tip-overs, and greatly increases rider confidence. The travel reduction modification involves the installation of travel limiting spacers, (so that the fork or shock shaft extends to a reduced position) installing shorter fork springs (shocks often don’t require shorter springs because most have preload adjusters that can compensate for the shorter travel) and re-valving to match the reduced travel, your weight, skill level, and your riding conditions.
The travel reduction can be reversed back to full travel for approximately half of the original cost. Travel reduction is recommended for trail riding, enduros, dual sport, adventure and motard.
